A visitation for Papa Joe will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
A celebration of life service will occur Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 10:00 AM, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037. The graveside committal will follow Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 11:30 AM on the grounds of Brushwood Methodist Church Cemetery, Brushwood Drive, Dubberly, Louisiana 71024.
Jose, known as “Papa Joe” to his loved ones, was born on March 18, 1938 in Bayaney, Hatillo, Puerto Rico to Juan and Rosa Robles. He joined the United States Air Force in 1957 which led him to meet his wife or “better half” as he often said, Happy, in Vietnam. Joe and Happy married in 1971 and had two children. He retired from the USAF in 1979 as a Master Sergeant. Joe and Happy later opened Northgate Alterations in Bossier City, Louisiana where they have been servicing the community and military members for many years.
Joe is survived by his wife, Happy, daughter and son-in-law Teresita and Mac McGuire of Benton; son and daughter-in-law Adrian and Angela Robles of Dubberly; and grandchildren Alex, Tayden, Alayna, Jack, and Madaline as well as multiple brothers, sisters, and other loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents, multiple brothers, and grandson, Aaron Robles of Dubberly.
