BOSSIER CITY, LA
The Lord wanted to complete His foursome for the weekend so after a courageous battle with cancer, the Lord called John C. “Jack” Rech home Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 1:30 p.m.
He was born May 19, 1930 in Chicago, IL. Graduated from Iowa State University, served in the Korean conflict and retired from Calumet Industries after many years of service. Jack enjoyed playing golf, fishing and woodworking. He was a member of the Bossier Optimist Club and Stonebridge Golf Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; one sister and brother in law, Mary Lee and Gene Vahlkamp of Arlington, VA; the mother of his children, Midge Rech; one daughter, Kathy Mohrman (Jon) of Norris TN; five sons; Mike Rech (Vickie), Dave Rech (Terri) of Shreveport, John Rech (Lee) of Salt Lake City, Steve Rech (Lee) of The Woodlands, TX; Bill Rech (Loretta) of Little Rock, AR; one step son, George Brice (Brenda) of Bossier City. Fourteen grandchildren; one great grandchild and one on the way.
Funeral services will be held at 10:a.m. on Tuesday September 14th at Christ the King Catholic Church in Bossier City LA with burial to follow at Hill Crest cemetery in Haughton, LA. Visitation will be Monday September 13th at 4-6 p.m. with Rosary to follow at Hill Crest Funeral Home in Haughton, LA
Pallbearers will be his sons and stepson. Honorary Pallbearers : Jack’s golfing buddies at Stonebridge, Red Smith, Allen Riegel, Paul Doll, Vernon Henson, Bob Utley, Richard Fontenot
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, Christ the King Catholic Church or Asbury United Methodist Church Mission Fund.
