On Saturday, December 7th, 2020, John T Penman, loving dad and granddad, passed away at the age of 71. John was born on April 22, 1949 in Jacksonville, Florida, to James and Josephine (Bachlin) Penman. He received his degree from Florida State University and practiced archaeology across the US.
John had a strong case of wanderlust and worked in museums and in private consulting in Wisconsin, Illinois, Texas, Alabama, Missouri, Arizona, New Mexico, California, Hawaii, and Louisiana. He leaves an important body of work that is still supports the work of others.
John is survived by his daughter Barbara Penman Kelley, and his two granddaughters Emma Bryn Kelley Hast and Clara Grace Kelley.
A private family service will be held at a future date and a service will be held on Barksdale AF Base on Friday, December 18th at 3:00 pm.
