He was born on November 9, 1929 in Stratford, OK to Virgil Morris and Beatrice (Holman) Morris. Jimmie served in the Army from August 1948 - June 1952 and was assigned to support the Air Force Fighters in a Special Assignment Unit in England in 1962. He was assigned to the USAF 2nd Bomb Wing, supporting B52 Aircraft.
Jimmie began a career in Boeing and was overseeing many different tasks until his retirement in 1992. He was sent by Boeing Support Services International to Baghdad, Iraq (1977 - 1979) and assigned to support Airline Aircraft Operations for Iraqi Airways Airline and Boeing support personnel assigned to the program. He spent time in Angola, Africa in a similar role supporting airline aircraft. He return to the Seattle area and finished his career in Boeing Fight Test.
Jimmie was a very patient and honest man. He loved reading, fishing, camping and helping others. He was married for 66 years to the love of his life, Bettie. He was very involved as a Christian. With his loving Wife and 4 other couples they started Bellaire Baptist Southern Missionary Church in Bossier City, La. The Church has grown into a church with over 2,000 members. He was a quiet, but determined man. He enjoyed western books and movies but his greatest joy was being with Bettie and doing things together to help others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bettie Jo Morris; son, Jimmy Dean "Red" Morris; brothers, Paul J. Morris and Bayless Morris and sister, Lula Fay Morris.
Jimmie is survived by his daughter, Jo Ann Morris and son, Jeffery Craig Morris; brother, Clifton Morris and several nieces, and nephews. He was loved by everyone that ever knew him.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Honoring Jimmie as pallbearers will be Jason Cruce, Derek Ravert, Don Eveland, Jr., Jack Everhart, John Stieben and Brian Fredell. Honorary pallbearer will be Frank Evans.
