Jerry Dale Carter

He was born in Shreveport, LA on December 7, 1955 to Ruth "Ovada" and Casper Carter. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son, Jared. Jerry loved to camp and travel with his wife Barbara, and he really enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carlton Carter and sister, Patsy Carter.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Barbara L. Carter; daughter, Courtney Pate; son, Jared Carter and wife Stefanie; sister, Darlene Hay; bonus children, Shana Patterson, Randy Patterson, and Brittany Sunderland; grandchildren, Annaleigh Carter, Easton Carter, Jacob Pate, Ava Pate and many more bonus grandkids, nieces, nephews and extended loving family members.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. A celebration of life will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Park.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Garison, Rick Slaton, Chris Brown, Clay Beard, Troy Reeves, Freddie Wright, Curtis Harvey and Patrick Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be David Carter, Jerry McLemore and Larry Taylor.
