Visitation for Patricia Jayne Conrad will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, Monday, October 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Tommy Patton with a special eulogy given by her sister, Judy. Burial will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Jayne was born August 23, 1952, in Gulfport, MS. She was a graduate of Bossier High School, class of 1970. She loved playing school sports and had many awards for her athleticism. She continued her education graduating from LSU Shreveport.
Jayne loved her family and all her friends. Most people speak of the instant connection they had with her. She made many friends playing softball, a love she carried into adulthood. A softball friend, Debbie, helped her get a job at Willis Knighton. She started as a phlebotomist but when her supervisor noticed her skills and intelligence, she transferred Jayne to the chemistry lab. Jayne thrived in the lab and became Assistant Supervisor. She loved her job and all her coworkers. She worked at Willis Knighton for 42 years until retiring in 2019 as a laboratory scientist.
Jayne was a fighter. She overcame lung cancer but would eventually succumb to leukemia. She fought to live life to the fullest enjoying family and friends throughout her cancer journey. We witnessed so many miracles of God through her journey. He made himself evident in every way all the way to her last breath on earth.
Jayne was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mildred Conrad. She is survived by her sister, Judy Doty Carter and husband C.K. Carter, III; six nieces and nephews, Annette Taylor and husband Kevin, Angel Todd and husband Toby, Georgiana Tarantino and husband Brandon, Frances Small and husband Pat, T.J. Doty, Tim Doty and wife Abby; and a host of grand nieces, nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved four-legged companion, Cooper, who never left her side.
We would also like to thank Gwen Jones, a God send, for her constant love, care, and support. And also to Jayne’s Willis Knighton Hospice nurses, Jackie, Kay, and Terica, she loved y’all dearly.
