Janis L. Widmer

DOYLINE, LA – Services for Janis L. Widmer will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Pastor Vance Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Janis was an avid fisher. She loved animals and the outdoors. She kept herself busy by feeding all her animals both domestic and wild. She especially looked forward to the arrival of the martins and humming birds. She took great pride in being a grandmother. Some of her favorite times were riding in the mule feeding the animals with Madison. She also enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes and baking with her. Every Easter they would plant flowers together.

She was preceded in death by her sister Susie L. Smith and brother Randy Lattier. She is survived by her husband Freddie M. Widmer, Sr., son Freddie Widmer, Jr. and wife Robin, granddaughter Madison Widmer, sister Loraine Carson, sister in law Dorothy Lattier, nieces Laurie Young, Jere Smith and Lisa Hyde.

Pallbearers will be Mark Griffith, Luke Griffith, Billy Tew, Carl “Tookie” Tew, Trey Moore, and Ray Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunt Powell, Alva English, Sonny Boogaerts, Wayne McEachern, Billy Windham and Mike Elshout.

The family would like to thank Dr. Desai, Dr. Jani, and the staff at Willis-Knighton Pierremont and the LifeCare team. The family would also like to thank special friends; Janell and Billy Windham and sister in law Dorothy Lattier for all their help and support.
