Memorial services for James H. "Jim" Miller, 74, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the Couch Chapel of First United Methodist Church of Shreveport, with Dr. Pat Day officiating.Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at the Hill Crest Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, LA; 71`037.
James Homer "Jim" Miller was born September 6, 1936 to the late Van and Edna Miller of Coushatta. He graduated from Coushatta High and married the love of his life, Jo Ann Morgan Miller in 1957. They soon moved to Shreveport to begin their life together. Jim worked in insurance adjustments with Firemans Fund, Farm Bureau, and Crawford & Co. He began his career in the automobile industry in 1985 where he was the finance and insurance manager for local car dealerships, Bill Hanna Ford, Harter Lincoln, and finally with his most valued job, Wray Ford. He remained employed with Wray Ford and worked until his cancer sidelined him, although still calling and checking in almost daily. He so enjoyed working at Wray Ford and had many coworkers he loved. Mr. Miller was also very dedicated to his family always making sure everyone was well taken care of. He especially loved being pawpaw to the apple of his eye, granddaughter, Kelsey Regan.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years Jo Ann Miller; daughter, Kathy Regan and husband Marty of Shreveport, LA; sister, Velton E. Fedric of Baton Rouge, LA;
granddaughter, Kelsey Regan.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Robert Hernandez, Dr. Paul Schuler, Dr. Eric Smith, Dr. Kevin Marler, the staff at Willis-Knighton Pierremont, and Cornerstone Hospital for their kind and devoted care.
