Geoffrey Frederick Kerr, age 81, passed away March 22, 2024, in Shreveport, LA. Geoff was born unto the union of Frederick and Hazel Kerr in Prescott, Ontario, Canada, on January 28, 1943.
He was a remarkable man who was full of life and had a wicked sense of humor. His quick wit and vibrant personality was infectious. He lived for family get-togethers and loved his children, Dave and Michelle, dearly. His wife of sixty years, Martha, remained the love of his life, until his last dying breath.
Though born in Canada, young Mr. Kerr aspired to serve in the U.S. Air Force. He was so proud upon meeting the requirements and completing the process of Naturalization then being granted U.S. Citizenship. Mr. Kerr went on to serve his new country for a full career spanning over twenty years.
Geoff was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Hazel Patterson Kerr; his brother, Dick Kerr; and his sister, Marilyn Ferguson. He is survived by: his loving wife, of sixty years, Martha Ann Overstreet Kerr; his daughter, Michelle Moore and husband Brian; his son, David Kerr and wife Dwaina; grandchildren, Reid Kerr, Logan Kerr, Brittany Kerr Drummond; and six great-grandchildren.
Services in his honor will begin with a Visitation between 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Hill Crest Memorial, Haughton, March 28, 2024. A Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 pm on March 29, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shreveport, with Ftr. Jerry Daigle presiding. The Committal Service, with Full Air Force Honors will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
