Gay went to be with the Lord, our savior, Jesus Christ, on April 6, 2023. She was 84 years old, born July 9, 1938, in Rayville, LA. Gay lived in Haughton, LA for the last 51 years. She retired from Louisiana Downs after 25 years of employment. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Haughton and was a Boilers Booster Club member.
Gay was an avid sports fan, she loved LSU Tigers, Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, and our local Mudbugs Hockey team. Gay loved her husband, her family, and most importantly, God. Gay shared the gospel everywhere she went and never forgot to send birthday cards and bible verses to all she loved. Her favorite pastime was working in the yard and gardening all the way up until the last week of life.
Gay is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Brown; mother, Elvie Thrower, father, Noble Thrower; and brothers, Mack, Al, and Don Thrower; sister, Hilda Williams; son Richard Ball; daughter Susan Swan, and Vickie Schenck. God blessed her children with her love, grace, and presence. She will be deeply missed but she left an imprint that will remind of us of her love daily and the memories will remain in our hearts.
