Florence Cordelia Barnette, age 86, a resident of Bossier City, Louisiana, formerly of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, peacefully departed this life on February 2, 2024. She was known as an avid gardener with a love for flowers and dedicated several years of her life as a proud member of the Pink Ladies, where she volunteered her time and brought joy to many. She joins in Heaven her second husband, John Luther Barnette; her first husband, Jerry Lynn Abner; daughter, Terri Leigh Hixson; and grandson, Jeffery Hixson.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Patsy Doughty, Tammy Tuxen and Veronica Blair; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
Services honoring the life of Granny Jo will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home beginning at 2pm. Visitation will be held prior to services Tuesday from 1pm until 2pm. Interment will immediately follow service at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
