Doris Scott Burns

Prospect, LA

Doris was born in Coushatta, LA to Charlie Scott and Sarah Edna Elliott Scott on June 18, 1922. She was formerly of Bossier City, LA, who presently resided in Prospect, LA, and entered into heaven on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. She was 90 years old. The funeral service will be held November 28, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from noon until time of service. Her nephew, Scotty Teague will officiate the service. Interment will follow the funeral service at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Oh, what a blessing to know she is in the arms of our Lord.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin A. Cosby, Robert C. Willoughby, John Bilbo Duke, Peyton L. Pace, Dancy L. Pace, and Grady T. Pace.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Raymond “Ray” Burns, five sisters, one brother and one son-in-law, C.J. Duncan.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Duncan, and two sons: Mike Burns and Eddie Burns, three grandchildren, Whitney Duncan Willoughby, Susan Duncan Ward and Brandi Burns Jones; six great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Doris retired from Kilpatrick Life Insurance and she enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with family.

Our family request that donations be made to her nephew: Scotty Teague Evangelistic Association, PO Box 61, Chester, Arkansas 72934, to further his missions and preaching on the streets of New York.
