This beautiful woman was born in Mamou, Louisiana on July 21, 1982. Denise was raised in Bossier Parish, she graduated from Haughton High School, with honors, as a Red Jacket. She started college at Northwestern, as a Demon and finished as a Registered Nurse, with a Bachelor of Science, in 2005 at Majove College.
Denise started her nursing career at La Paz County Hospital in 2005. Returning to Louisiana in 2008 to begin what became her greatest passion, a true calling at Christus Schumpert “Sutton Children’s Hospital” until its closing. She moved to Minden Medical Center, as Charge Nurse in Labor and Delivery, LSU recruited Denise to Ochsner's St. Mary place.
Where a life time goal was achieved. Joining “NICU Transport Team” along with earning her position as a charge nurse. Ochsner-LSU truly set the bar for Denise, it was her “happy place”. These tiny babies have been of constant inspiration to Denise. Together with her sister-in-law, they started a nonprofit organization, “Little blessings” (Frogs). The level of care, love, and healing, Denise's care for her patients was unmistakably heard when she spoke to them.
Denise married Cameron McKnight on May 18, 2002 and 9 months later, Denise became a Mother, giving birth to Madison Nichol. It was 9 years after when the family expanded to four, with the birth of Mason Nathaniel.
Thus creating M-n-M !!
She is preceded in death by her father, David Guillory.
She is survived by: her husband, Cameron McKnight (39) her children, Madison (19) and Mason McKnight (10); mother, Kristina Guillory; maternal grandmother, Rita Bogard and sister, Alicia Watts; brother-in-law, James Watts; and their five children.
Services for Mrs. McKnight will begin with a Visitation from 5:00 until 8:00, Friday, June 10, 2022 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton. The Funeral will be on Saturday, June 11 at 1:00, also at Hill Crest, with key speakers, Michael Angelo, MD., and Robert “Bubba” Birmingham.
