Debra Kay Rachels Green was born on April 30, 1956 to Jack and Billy Rachels in Mobile, Alabama. Following a courageous battle with brain cancer, she passed away in her home surrounded by her loving and devoted family on Sunday, November 29, 2015.
Funeral services will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home in Haughton, Louisiana on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Eddie Colvin officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Hill Crest Funeral Home. Honoring Debbie as pallbearers will be Jeffrey Phipps, Jason Phipps, Greg Eseman, Jr., Stefan Holt, Jason Rachels and Richard Lee.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband of forty-one years Michael Green, her daughters, Melissa and husband Shawn Bouillion, Rachal Smith, and Angela Green. Also left behind to cherish her wonderful memory are her grandchildren, Tyler and Kaelyn Bouillion; Abbigail, Caroline and Colton Smith; and Trenton DeFatta. Debbie is also survived by her mother Billy Rachels and sisters, PJ Rachels and Shelly White and their families, plus a host of extended family and friends.
Prior to the onset of cancer, Debbie had been a dedicated and longtime employee at the Jimmie Davis Highway Animal Hospital in Bossier City. She was also very supportive of her grandchildren in all their sports, gymnastic, cheering, dance and school activities. Debbie also attended Simple Church. She graciously opened her home to many family and holiday related events and was a wonderful hostess and cook.....especially desserts. She leaves behind a great legacy and many precious memories for all her family and friends who will greatly miss her.
