Deanna Thomas

Dee was preceded in death by her Father, Alvin Bowers, Mother, Emma Bowers (Nana), Sister, Robin Martindale, Brother, Michael Bowers, Son-in-law John Jones and her four legged fur baby, Belle.

Survived by her daughters, Kelle Ebey, wife of Rusty Ebey and Holly Jones, who were her heart and soul. Grandchildren Brooke Stevens, wife of Jonathan Stevens, Blake Walker, Charles Crittendon and Robin Cassidy. Great grandchildren, Parker Stevens, Conner Stevens, Brynn Stevens and Baby Walker that is due January 2024. She is also survived by her bonus family, Jimmy Wilson, Billy Wilson, Ginny Kilpatrick, Deeanna Ashley, Jennifer Scaturro, wife of Kurt Scaturro, her ex-son-in-law, Kyle Walker whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and a host of many wonderful friends. Dee also leaves behind many bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dee was an RN for 45 plus years working for the VA Hospital and Willis Knighton, having retired from both hospitals. She was also a traveling nurse at one point and she loved travelling and working in California and Virginia. After she retired she taught nursing for Vo Tech for several years. Dee was a great nurse and went above and beyond at her job. She carried that trait with her in everyday life; always caring for people and putting other people before herself.

Her favorite things to do were to sit around and talk with family and friends. She loved when family and friends all got together for a cookout and holidays. She was a BIG birthday person and wanted everyone to feel special on their birthday.

We would like to thank the staff at The Gables at Spring Lake who cared for Mom the last six months. I do not know what we would have done without you all!

Another HUGE thanks to Lifepath Hospice Care. They were with Mom and us every step of the way. All of her caregivers were truly Angels on earth and I cannot say enough about everything they did to help her, and us, during her last days!

There will be a massive whole, left in our heart and a void in our life that will never be filled.
