Danny selflessly dedicated his life to serving others through 28 years on the Bossier City Fire Department and serving as a Free Mason at Martin McClanahan Masonic Lodge #384, El Karubah, and Scottish Rites. He found a special brotherhood and bond with his Masonic family and made deep, lasting friendships among brothers who shared his love of helping children.
He was a brother to many and a friend to those he came in contact with. He made friends feel like family and was a quiet, generous caretaker who would give you anything you needed at anytime.
Danny served his family and friends through years of being available to help, no matter the need. He was caring and loving to his parents, sisters, brother and in-laws. Danny cherished his wife, treasured his son and adored his grandson.
Some thoughts and memories of Danny shared by his family:
To me, Danny means quiet strength. I have always known, even in our childhood, that he was there. That he would always be there. He just took care of things never wanting to be recognized. True to his word. He was a true gentleman. Life will be tough until we see him again. ~ Melissa
He was my rock, my confidante and my ray of hope when things were tough. The only one who could always make me laugh. ~ Debby
I've always looked up to Danny, even to this day. He was my best friend. He was always there and always made be laugh. He was that way with many people he met in his life. I am grateful for the family, Fire Department and Masons that were in his life. ~ David
Being Danny's parents as with his siblings was such a joy. He was loving, loyal and so smart. His siblings looked up to him and he has many friends and was the kindest. I think God needed a special angel and he was the most special he could find. ~ Mom and Dad
The man I looked up to. My hero. My father was a great man as anyone who ever met him would know. He would give the shirt off his back for you. Anything I ever needed he was always there for me no matter what. I hope to be half the father that he was. He touched many people's lives over the years. He was the world's greatest Papaw to my son. Those two had a special bond like no other. Life will never be the same without him but I know he's watching over us until that day we will see him again. ~ Casey
