Dana Jo Butler Christ

HAUGHTON LA- A celebration of the life of Jo Christ will be held in the chapel at First Baptist Church of Haughton on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Family will receive friends from 10:00 until the service. Brother Lewis Attaway will be officiating.

Mrs. Christ was born in Muskogee, OK on May 6, 1929. She departed this world into the arms of Jesus on March 12, 2014. Over the past 7 years Alzheimer’s disease slowly took away Momma’s mind, body and voice. But it could not rob her of her salvation in Christ, which she received at the age 10 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her dearest Grandmother Butler, and her one and only love, her husband Bud Christ whom she was married to for 53 years.

She is survived by two sons, Bobby Christ and wife Sharry, Ronnie Christ and wife Jackie, two daughters, Anna Vincent and husband Jan Michael, and Cissy Walker and husband Ricky, eight grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Momma will be remembered for her endless devotion and love for her husband, for the LORD, her family and the old dairy farm which she called her first real home, antiquing, gardening, horse racing, rock hunting, reading and story telling.

Momma will be deeply missed. But we find comfort in knowing her suffering has at last ended. And joy that she is reunited with Daddy and we will see them both again one day when GOD calls us home.
