Curtis Julian Gill Jr., age 67, of Bossier City, Louisiana passed away at Riverview Care Center on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, following a lengthy battle of paralysis and neglected health care. He was born on Tuesday, April 1, 1958, in Monroe, Louisiana to the late Curtis Julian Gill Sr. and Vera Gloria Goodin Gill.
Curtis worked offshore in the Oil Industry for several years. He was the type of person that would get bored extremely easy. You could consider Curtis a Jack of all trades and master of none. Through the years, Curtis picked up experience in the Industrial Field.
He enjoyed airplanes, walking and taking in the outdoors. Curtis collected stamps through the years. He would spend much of his time collecting things he could repurpose and recycle. Curtis enjoyed working with his hands and would help others in need of a great handyman.
He never liked staying still, you could find Curtis always on the go; if it was taking a brisk walk outdoors, traveling around town, or working different places; he was always active. When his daughter Beth was little, you'd see the two of them always together; everywhere Curtis was you'd find Beth trailing behind.
During his later years, Curtis could be caught playing video games and spending most of his time watching Netflix.
Curtis was preceded in passing by his parents; one son, David Wayne Gill, one sister, Sandra Lynn Gill Perry Wheeler; one nephew, Richard "Bo" Troyer; two nieces: Sherri Elise Owens, and Stacy Lanette Owens.
Left with the memory of Curtis will be one son, Michael Evan Courtney; two daughters: Maggie Gill, Beth R. Gill; one brother, Philip Ray Gill; two sisters: Julie Gill Grubb, Gloria Gill Owens Head (Frank); four grandchildren; two special nieces: Kelly D. Owens (T), Shannon Owens Creel (Kevin); nieces-nephews: Brandon Gill, Megan Morane Kinjorski (Skyler), Dean Grubb, Sarah Dean Furr (Rickie); special lifelong family friend, Carla Hall Smith (JR); special cousin, Dan Jackson (Lisa), extended family members and friends.
Memorials to honor Curtis Julian Gill Jr., can be donated to Baptist Tabernacle Church, 8501 E. Kingston Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71118 (318) 687-7473 or charity of choice.
The family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to our family and friends for the kind words of condolences, prayers over the years, and unwavering support during this great time of need.
Mark 11:25 - "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in Heaven may forgive you of your sins."
