Peanut truly lived in Sportsman’s Paradise, loving all things outdoors. Duck hunting, fishing, and camping were some of the hobbies he enjoyed the most. He worked all year to make the lease perfect for his duck hunting nephew and buddies. Like his father, you never found him inside. He stayed outside working in the yard, feeding the birds, mowing grass, planting flowers, and admiring his maples. He would say “Man that sure looks pretty”.
He lived for a good party, especially playing cornhole, even past dark when he couldn’t see the boards any longer. Nickelback playing in the background, and he never forgot about those missing tapes. Every July on the same week, he camped at Lake Greeson at the same camping spot, never leaving for home until the next years trip was booked. Spending the mornings fishing with his cousin and the afternoons floating and talking about his favorite past times at the lake as a kid. Frying fish for a big group was his specialty; although many asked, he never gave up his secret recipe, not even to his son-in-law who asked several times for it.
To know Peanut was to love him, the infamous UPS man of Springhill, LA. A true extrovert, a kid at heart, he never met a stranger. Even dogs gravitated to him, and he loved all animals. But most of all, he loved being with his family and friends. His granddaughter, Charlee, gave him the most joy. He was always thinking and asking about her and looked forward to their next adventures together. He loved his girls so much, Momma, Sweet Pea, and Scooter.
Peanut is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Ruby Harris, and sister Lena Ann Sisk.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Holly Sturdivant; daughter, Katy and husband Shaun Inman; daughter Sydni Sturdivant and partner Tommy Buklarewicz; sister Floy and husband Gary Yates; grandchildren, Charlee and Laynee Inman; and numerous family and friends.
The family would like to thank South Bossier Volunteer Fire/BPEMS Medic 4, Bossier Sherriff Department and Chaplain Jay Valentine for showing so much compassion. A special thank you to Dr. Craig Miller and SIM family, Dr. Himanshu Desai, Dr. Sanford Katz, and WKP Emergency and CT departments for the wonderful care you provided.
Arrangements for celebration of life to be determined at a later date. Please keep checking the website for future updates.
Lastly, anytime you see or hear a lawnmower, please ask yourself as Charlee once did “Is Peanut cutting the grass?”
