He was born in Epps, LA on February 16, 1931, to Willie and Aldie Parrish. He served in the US Army from 1948-1968 in Panama, Germany, Italy, Korea, among several US States. After his retirement from the military, he and his family moved to Cotton Valley, LA. He worked at the Louisiana Ammunition Plant and retired again from Evergreen Presbyterian School.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sons, Gary Clayton Parrish “Red”, Keith Eugene Parrish “Dilbert”, Noel Alan Parrish “Rub”, sisters Jewel, Willie Myrle and brother AG.
Corkey is survived by his daughter, Diane and husband Jackie Young; grandchildren, Gene and wife Kimberly Johnston, Jacob Young, Sarah Parrish, Ed and wife Michelle Parrish, and great grandchildren, Tristan, Steven, Olivia, Emma, Gavin and Wesley.
His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, gardening and watching the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers football.
Graveside services for Corkey will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Cotton Valley Cemetery, Cotton Valley, LA, officiated by Bro. Kenneth DeHart.
