Catherine Louise Shelton Cochran, a long time resident of Bossier City, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Mrs. Cochran was born on July 22, 1925, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was the first in her family to graduate from Central High School in 1942. She married Finley Lee Cochran in 1947 and they were married 49 years before his death in 1996.
Mrs. Cochran is preceded in death by her parents, George and Hattie Shelton, her ten brothers and sisters, her husband Lt. Col. (ret.) Finley Lee Cochran and her granddaughter, Angela Mae Campbell. She is survived by her six children, Lee Cochran, Cynthia Cochran Campbell, Terry Cochran Washam, Greg Cochran, Scott Cochran and Belinda Cochran. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, Louisiana, at 3:00 p.m., with interment to follow. Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 prior to the funeral. Reverend Buster Page will be officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons Phillip Cochran, Michael Naquin, David Campbell, Nicholas Washam, Aaron Cochran, Christian Cochran, Justin Swindell, Joel Wilkinson, and Chris Moore.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful staff of Glenview Gardens in Bossier City and to Mrs. Cochran’s very special caregivers of many years, Robin Tinsley and Teresa Irizarry. These people helped Mrs. Cochran live independently for many years.
