With profound sadness we announce the passing of Beth Wilt, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on March 14, 2021. She was in her 78th year, as we just celebrated her 77th birthday in December.
Beth was born in Houston, Texas to Robert and Dorothy (Mowery) Meineke. She traveled the world as a devoted military family mom. Along the way, while in France, Japan, Texas, Arkansas, North Carolina, and Louisiana, she shared her unconditional love and kindness to family, friends, and strangers alike.
She was the beloved mother of: Mike (Jill), Rick (Becky), and daughter-in-law Sheila; proud grandmother of Chris (Emily), Keenan (Julie), Austin (Lizzie), Caleb (Caroline), Sydni, Robin, and Rachel (Alex); and her six grandchildren Aurelie, Averielle, Amelia, Oliver, Lucy, and Pearl. She was the cherished sister of Bob (Barbara). She was predeceased by her son Bill and brother Don.
Beth lived a full life as a wonderful mother and homemaker first, and later in life as an administrator in the business and financial industries.
Beth had a wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit. She loved to help others and volunteered in the church, women’s groups, and charities wherever she lived. She loved to cook elaborate family meals, was highly skilled with a sewing machine and needlework, and enjoyed league team bowling. Playing cards with her friends and family had always been a favorite pastime.
Most of all she loved her family. She instilled in her sons and grandchildren strong Christian values and the unconditional love from an unwavering faith in Christ. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A celebration of Beth’s life will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2565 Airline Dr, Bossier City, Louisiana on Saturday, March 20, 2021 beginning at 2 pm with visitation at 1 pm.
