Wayne Carter of St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral. The family will be receiving friends for visitation on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Carol died suddenly on Friday, November 6, 2015. She was born in Roswell, NM on January 11, 1959. She had a unique childhood. Through her father’s military career and her own career, Carol was able to see a great deal of the world. She was a diehard Saints and Razorback fan. She loved her career in the exchange student placement program and the hospitality industry. She never met a stranger and, if she did, they were friends before they parted. She had a zeal for life and it was contagious if you were around her. She spent her life bringing happiness to others. She loved and cherished her family, friends and her furry companions.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gillian Margaret Black; and mother-in-law, Margaret O’Brien. She is remembered lovingly by her husband, Leo Miles O’Brien, Jr., daughters, Michelle Pounders and husband Brent, and Jessica Wallace and husband Dustin, step-son, Bob and wife Jessie, 10 grandchildren, father Johnnie Black and wife Wanda, sisters Judy Black-Schmidt and husband Alan and Mary Black Brown and husband Joe as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and exchange students she considered her children.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pet Savers of Shreveport, www.petsaversshreveport.org or the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
