Services for Bonnie Jean Denise Brumley Fulmer will be held at 11 AM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will welcome friends for a visitation from 10 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Jean Fulmer was born Aug 15, 1932 in Springhill, LA and was a longtime resident of Springhill, LA and Bossier City, LA. Jean had a brief career as a secretary at International Paper Company, Springhill, LA, but primarily spent her life committed to serving her family as a loving homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother.
Jean passed away on May 27, 2018 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Huey Pierce Fulmer; son, Rickey Fulmer; parents, Oscar and Mattie Brumley; brother, Homer Brumley; and sisters, Bernice Brumley Doty and Clemmie Brumley Haynes.
Jean spent much of her life in Springhill, LA where she was an active member of Springhill United Methodist church. Jean was also active in social and civic activities where she organized local parades and bridge clubs.
ln 1989, Jean and Huey moved to Bossier City, LA where she spent the remainder of her life. Jean was an active member of First Baptist Bossier where she led the greeter organization for many years. Jean loved her church family and the members of her Early Bird Sunday School class.
She is survived by her daughter, Patti Fulmer Abney and husband, Michael Abney of Bossier City; Grandson, Josh Abney and wife Amber of Roanoke, TX; granddaughter, Tiffany Jean Abney Guest and husband Josh Guest of Bossier City; granddaughter, Wendy Fulmer Litton, and husband Mike of Springhill, LA, and 6 great- grand-children, Emerson and Hudson Abney, Brody and Brooks Guest, Michelle and Joey Litton.
Pallbearers will be Leroy Faith, Jud Hodge, George Middleton, Jack Montgomery, Louis Stephenson, Buddy Simmons, Eric Simmons, and Dan Turner.
The family would like to thank Jean's primary care physician, Dr. Ted Warren and staff for their compassionate care and guidance. They would also like to extend a special thanks to the staff and care givers at Brookdale Senior Living, Bossier City, LA.
