Donald William “Bill” Bailey, Jr. passed away suddenly at his home in Haughton, LA on February 4, 2025. He was born on September 18, 1952, in Shreveport, LA to parents, Don W. Bailey and Mary Alexander Bailey.
Bill was an avid deer hunter and a founding member of the “No Hittem Deer Club.” He graduated from Northeast (ULM) in 1975 and started working for Halliburton two days later. He worked thirty plus years for Halliburton and made many lasting friendships. For the last 35 years he could be seen on any given Friday night in a high school press box spotting or calling football games. He was also a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and he never gave up on them. He and his wife, Julie, were a constant in many lives, always enjoying the “get togethers” these friendships provided. Bill retired from Halliburton several years ago, but the friendships with his retiree buddies remain.
Bill is survived by his wife, Julie Bundy Bailey; son, Nick Bailey and wife Cami; daughter, Tori Hinte and husband Chris; aunt, Judy Lewis and husband John; and grandchildren, Lilly and Anna Hinte, Kenzie, Jayce, and Jessie Bailey. Bill is also survived by his “chosen family”, Rush and Celeste Ware and their children, John Ware and wife Alicia, Bridget Langston and husband Shane, and Brandi Hutchinson and husband Ben: and their grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Honorary pallbearers are Daniel McCuller, David McDaniel, Mike Roberts, DC Machen, Larry Wood and Danny Cain.
