Betty was born in Mooringsport, Louisiana in 1943. The family later moved to Mansfield, Louisiana, where she earned her diploma from Mansfield High. She then moved to Shreveport where she met Bobby Miller and was married in 1964.
Betty worked at Commercial National Bank in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s, then at Falco (Enron) in the 80’s. When she was not working, Betty enjoyed sewing, painting, fishing for bluegill, camping and walking. On Sunday’s, she was diligent about attending church and teaching second-grade Sunday school.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Mary “Eloise” and Stephen T “Papa Dude” Spelling and her eldest brother, “Happy” Wright.
Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bobby Miller. Family also includes son Mark and Amie Miller of McKinney, Texas and son Bobby and Vivian Miller of Altair, Texas; grandsons Cole and Jackson Miller; brother Lee Roy and Margie Wright; brother John and Blanche Wright; sister Doris Henneman; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Pallbearers are: John Gaydos, John Miller, David Miller, Mark Wright, Jackson Miller, Cole Miller and Thomas Miller.
The family extends a special thanks to Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home and Willis Knighton Hospice.
Services to Celebrate her life will begin at 9:00 am, Tuesday April 23, 2024, with a Visitation, followed by the Funeral at 10:00 am, with Dr. Gevan Spinney presiding and Rev. Don Francis assisting. All services, to include Interment, will be held at Hill Crest Memorial, in Haughton.
In lieu of flowers, Betty and her family would be blessed by donations to Rolling Hills Baptist Ministry in her memory.
