Barney Paul Dowden Sr.

Services to honor the life of Mr. Barney Paul Dowden, Sr. will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home Mausoleum, officiated by Rev. Monroe Mercer of Greenacres Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Barney was born on March 23, 1931 and passed away on January 23, 2021. He was a graduate of Fair Park High School and served four years in the U.S. Navy. He also retired from K.C.S. Railroad and was a member of Greenacres Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Dowden was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Marlene Dowden; son, Barney Paul Dowden, Jr.; both parents, two brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his son, Stephen Guy Dowden of Benton, LA; daughters, Cindy Dowden Wilson of Baton Rouge, LA and Beth Dowden Taylor of Bryant, AR.

Honorary pallbearers are M.R. Anderson, Gene Arant, Richard Flurry, Ken Fryar, Bobby Jenkins, Norman Oden, Kenneth, and Bill Tidwell.
