Barbara June Oliver

HAUGHTON, LA - Celebration of Life services for Barbara June Whitaker Oliver, 79, will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday August, 30, 2011, at Central Assembly of God Chapel, Haughton, LA with Rev. Andy Harris officiating and Rev. Kent Craft assisting. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park, Haughton, LA. The family will be receiving friends for visitation Monday, August 29, 2011, from the hours of 5 - 8 p.m. at Hill Crest Funeral Home.

Mrs. Barbara was born March 27, 1932, in Minden, TX to the late Hal and Paula Whitaker and was called to her heavenly home August 27, 2011, in Haughton, LA following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Oliver was owner of Oliver's Tax Service in Haughton, LA for forty years.

Preceded in death by parents and one daughter, Beresa Jan Puckett of Haughton, LA. She is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Thurman H. Oliver of Haughton, LA; one daughter, Jacquie Willhite of Haughton, LA; three sons, Paul Sprecher of Henderson, TX, "DeWayne" Oliver and wife, Robin, of Howe, Ok, Jesse "Bo" Oliver, of Haughton, LA; two brothers, Hal "Scooter" Whitaker of Grand Coulee, WA, Lewis J. Whitaker and wife, Peggy of Santa Fe, TX; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to Saint Joseph Hospice of Shreveport, LA.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations be made to the Central Assembly of God building fund.
