Arthur Gerald Washer

Arthur Gerald Washer, 86, of Haughton, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. He was born on August 19, 1937, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the late Elmer Lee and Clare Arthurine Pugh Washer.

Arthur served this grateful nation by enlisting in the United States Air Force and retired following a dedicated twenty year career. He went on to work for Waukesha Pearce as a service Mechanic and later transferred into management for many years. Arthur then worked for Directional Services, Inc., for a number of years. He loved to race go-karts and was an avid follower of the New Orleans Saints and NASCAR. Arthur was a member of the Sheriff Posse for fifteen plus years and always enjoyed giving back to others.

Arthur was preceded in passing by his parents; his wife of forty-two years, Helen Washer; two brothers: Randy Washer, and Raymond Washer.

Left to cherish Arthur’s wonderful memories will be his two children: daughter, Cynthia Sinz and husband Greg, son, Jerry Washer and wife Donna; three grandsons: David Washer and wife Chrissy, Adam Butler, Austen Washer; two great-grandsons: Joseph Cockerham, Jacob Cockerham; two sisters: Wanda Bucciarelli and husband Phillip, Dorothy Crafton and husband Omar; special friend, Priscilla Stahl; along with many nieces; nephews; cousins; and many wonderful friends.

A visitation for Arthur will be held Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, Louisiana. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home with Raymond Wilkinson officiating.

Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana, 71037.

Honoring Arthur as pallbearers will be Rusty Oswalt, Greg Sinz, Joseph Cockerham, Jacob Cockerham, Gary Pease, and Joe Tabor. Honorary pallbearers are David Washer, Gary Nelson and Jerry Washer.

Memorials may be made in honor of Arthur Gerald Washer to the Shreveport Rescue Mission or a charity of your choice.
