BOSSIER CITY, LA – Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Ruth Annette “Annie” Simmons, 75, will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at 5:00 p.m., at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Kevin Roy. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. prior to service.
Annie was born in DeRidder, LA and was the daughter of the late James Martin and Callie White and passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who leaves behind a family who loved her dearly.
In addition to her parents, Annie is preceded in death by her sisters, Lillie Hickman, Jewel James, and Winnie Thompson; and brother, Roemelzia White. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Cecil Simmons; daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Gary Keener; son, Jeffery Simmons and wife Debbie; grandsons, Jeremy and Jake Keener; granddaughters, Jennifer Martz and Valerie Keener DeVille and husband, Darren; great-grandbabies, Emma and Aubrey Keener, Lyndi and Levi DeVille; sisters, Ruth Deason, Edna Moses, and Bobbye Gibson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Mrs. Simmons as pallbearers are her nephews, Danny Simmons, Norwood Hickman, LeRoy Stuart, Rodney Thompson, Benny White, and Chase Hatcher.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Thompson Home Health, Willis Knighton Bossier nursing staff and physicians, Josh and Paul at Promise Hospital.
