A Celebration of life service will be held in honor of Albert J. Hohensee, Jr., 82; at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton, LA. The family will be receiving friends from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday. Al went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2014. Officiating will be Dr. Rocky Maddox of Rose Park Baptist Church, where Albert was a member.
Al was born February 20, 1932 in Donaldsonville, LA to the late Etta Mae Dillinger Hohensee and Albert J. Hohensee, Sr. He worked 58 years as a riverboat captain for E. N. Bisso in New Orleans, doing a job he dearly loved, moving and docking ships. He had a huge heart and loved everyone he met. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Al was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Albert J. Hohensee III; daughters, Cynthia Cahuiche and Loretta Davis; sisters, Gloria Dedon, Estelle Stoner, and Lily Mae Hohensee; brother, Donald Hohensee and special friend, Grace Hohensee.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Carney Hohensee; sons, Johnny and wife Juliet of Baton Rouge, William of New Orleans, Brian and wife Valerie of Boutte, Christopher and fiance Dee Dee of Marrero, Alan and wife Wendy of Baton Rouge, Stephen and wife Shawn of Virginia Beach, Va. He is also survived by step-children, Darlene Griffin and husband Danny of New Orleans, Gail Brown and husband Gene of Avondale, Roy Holmes and wife Cindy of Panama City, Fl., Mark Hutton of Bossier City and Leslie Green and husband Mark of Bossier City; his sister, Rhoda Verret of Denham Springs, LA. and many grand-children and great grand-children.
