Lawrence Robertson

He was born in Speedwell on October 29, 1924. He was a graduate of Powell Valley High School. He was a longtime member of Haynes Flat Baptist Church.

Cotton along with his father established Powell Valley Block Company. He also worked for Giles Industries for many years before joining his brother at Commercial Bank. He worked as an appraiser for Commercial Bank and loved his fellow employees and customers that he met along the way. Cotton loved his family, his church, his community and NASCAR.

Cotton is survived by his children Judith Huskey Balkcom (husband, Rich) and Dennis Michael Robertson (wife, Jean Ann). Grandchildren Tyler Craig Huskey (wife, Rachel), Allison Robertson Delashmit (husband, Drew), and Dr. John Michael Robertson. Great grandchildren Jack Huskey, Will Huskey, Craig Huskey, Kellen Furmaniak, Charles Delashmit, and Mason Delashmit. Brother-in-law Paul Proffitt (wife, Nancy). Nieces Joni Proffitt, Susan Proffitt Meiser (husband, Steve), and Judy Robertson. Nephews Craig Robertson (wife, Sherri) and Jeff Proffitt (wife, Teresa). Grand-nieces and nephews Adam Robertson (wife, Cindi), Emily King (husband, John), Erica Robertson, Matthew Robertson (wife, Jennifer), Aaron Robertson (wife, Candice), Dakota Robertson (wife, Lauren), Amy Jo Goodin, Kelly Flege Thobe (husband, Mike), Jessica Flege Lusk (husband, Brad), Jeremy Meiser, Kate Meiser, and Ellie Meiser. Great grand-nieces and nephews Olivia Robertson, Noah Robertson, Riley King, Halle King, John David Heck, Isaac Heck, Lucas Heck, Matthew Robertson Jr., James Oscar Robertson, Noah Lusk, Jake Lusk, Quincey Thobe, Natalie Thobe, Zane Thobe, and Morgan Proffitt. Close friends Ronnie Renfro, Janet Peters Zachary (husband, Tommy), and Janet Broyles (husband, Fred). Loving in-home caregivers Terry Killion and Libby Harmon. And many other family and friends.

Cotton is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Alice Proffitt Robertson, parents John M. and Mary Etta Robertson, brother E. Oscar Robertson and sister-in-laws Althea and Alice Robertson, and Nephew Edwin G. Robertson.

The visitation will be from 5-7 p.m at Haynes Flat Baptist Church on Thursday, August 16th with funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Travis Dunn officiating and John King singing. Interment will be in the Robertson Family Cemetery at Speedwell on Friday, August 17th at 10 a.m. Pallbearers will be Dr. John Michael Robertson, Tyler Huskey, Drew Delashmit, Jack Huskey, Craig Robertson, Rich Balkcom, Aaron Robertson, and Eddie Jones.
