Tyson David Kyger Jr.

Tyson David Kyger, Jr., 66, a resident of Mt. Crawford, passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2013. He was born in Rockingham County on August 16, 1946 and was the son of the late Tyson D. Kyger, Sr. and Helen Geneva Haynes Kyger. Tyson lived all his life in Rockingham County mostly in Mt. Crawford area. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren and had been employed with Marshalls in Bridgewater for 28 years. He enjoyed western movies, antique cars, and in his younger years hunting. His favorite past time was spending time with his wife and family. On October 23, 1964 he married the former Sylvia V. Nieswander, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Tony D. Kyger and wife, Renee; Wesley H. Kyger and wife, Kathy, all of Mt. Crawford; five grandchildren, Grant, Tyler and Samantha Jo Kyger, Rebecca and Rachel Knight; one great-granddaughter, Keira Knight; and a niece, Joanna Figgatt of Harrisonburg. He was preceded in death by a sister Judy Ann Kyger. The family will receive friends 6-8:00 PM, Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, August 2, at the Chapel of the funeral home, with Rev. Clarence Moyers. Following the service he will be cremated.
