She was born on June 28, 1924 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Luther Amos and Lenora Forbes Myers.
Thelma lived the majority of her life in the Harrisonburg Linville area. She graduated from Linville-Edom High School and was a homemaker her entire life. She was a member of First Church of the Brethren where she was active in the nursery in former years and recently attended Sunrise Church of the Brethren. She loved flowers, gardening, baking, cooking, bird watching and loved sitting on the front porch.
On November 10, 1946 she married Charles DeWitt Craun, who preceded her in death on October 24, 1996.
She is survived by a son, Dennis W. Craun and wife, Pat, of Broadway; three grandchildren, Michelle Dove and husband, Chris, of New Market, Tabitha Feldmeier of Jacksonville, NC, Dwaine M. Craun and Rachel Moyers of McGaheysville; four great-grandchildren, Brayden D. Dove of New Market, Kaytlin R. Dumler, Eric M. Dumler and Chloe D. Feldmeier all of Jacksonville, NC; a sister, Nancy Wright of Roanoke; a brother, Gerald Myers and Julie, of Port Republic; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald M. Craun (November 4, 1994); sisters, Marie Reisenberg, Dorothy Frazier, Eunice Dean, and Geneva Craun; brothers, Russell Myers and R. S. “Date” Myers.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 26, 2015 from 1-2:00 p.m., at Sunrise Church of the Brethren. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. J. D. Glick officiating. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Bridgewater.
