She was born on June 6, 1921 in Canton, New York and was the daughter of the late Delbert and Estella M. Gay Weston.
Melba graduated from Keene Valley High School and attended Atlantic Union College in South Lancaster, MA and Washington Missionary College in Tacoma Park, MD. After retiring in 1986, from Garden State Academy in Tranquility, NJ, she moved to New Market. She was a member of the New Market Seventh-day Adventist Church.
On September 13, 1942, she married Lloyd Joseph Grove, who preceded her in death on November 6, 2017. They were happily married for 76 years.
She is survived by her children, Diane Burishkin and Denice Grove both of New Market; Gayle Grove of Loma Linda, CA; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Stephen Grove and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Grove. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Honoring her wishes, she was cremated and a memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the New Market Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Buz Menhardt officiating. Private burial will be held at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
