Born in Dover, NH, on March 15, 1941, he was the son of Charles and Celeste (Graziani) Mone.
Fred is survived by his wife Julian of 57 years and his three daughters, Mrs. Sheryl (Paul) Powers, Mrs. Christine (William) Jennings, Mrs. Karen (Stefan) Svilich and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Mrs. Elizabeth (Arthur) Anderson of Madbury; Patrick (Paula) Mone, Michael (Sheila) Mone, Kevin (Florence) Mone, of Dover; Mrs. Celeste (Dana) Martel of Barrington, and Joseph Mone of Somersworth; a sister in law, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Mone of Dover, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his Brother, Charles Chuck Mone.
Fred grew up in Dover, attended Dover schools, and graduated from DHS in 1959. He enlisted in United States Navy in 1959, was a Machinist Mate on submarines, later a Warrant and Commissioned Officer serving as Engineering Officer on submarine rescue ships and Ship Superintendent in various shipyards. He retired as a Lieutenant in 1979 and became a college graduate at age 43.
Following his Navy service Fred worked for Virginia Power, the City of Williamsburg, and operated his own business until he retired. Fred and Julian moved from their long time home in Williamsburg to the Shenandoah Valley to experience country living for the remainder of their days. He was kind, intelligent and loving, and will be missed by many.
A celebration of Fred's life will be held in the spring of 2021.
