Mr. Shifflett was born on November 15, 1948 in Harrisonburg. His loving parents Ernest W. Shifflett, Sr. and Lorraine Berry Shifflett preceded him in death.
Ernie lived his entire life in the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County area. He graduated from Harrisonburg High School and was a roofer. He was an avid BINGO player and bowler; he enjoyed eating seafood and watching crimes stories on TV.
On April 6, 1972, he married the love of his life, Lois Higgins Shifflett, who survives.
He is also survived by his three children, Michele Davidson (Doug), Christine Trobaugh (LJ), and Michael Shifflett (Tammy); eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Landes; and his fur baby, Maggie.
The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm, Friday, May 19, 2023 at the residence, 9508 South Eastside Highway, Elkton, or at any other times also. Honoring his wishes he will be cremated and there will be no services.
