She was born on December 18, 1926, at Hepners, in Shenandoah County, Virginia. She was the third of five daughters born to the late Casper F. and Daisy E. Anderson Ryman. Growing up, her family belonged to Morning Star Lutheran Church in Hepners. She graduated from New Market High School in 1945.
Bunk moved to Harrisonburg after graduating high school. She met and married Myron E. Hosaflook, Jr. They lived all their lives in Harrisonburg and were married 61 years at the time of his death on December 17, 2008. After being a stay-at-home mom, she found enjoyment and satisfaction as a sales associate for Joseph Ney’s, Leggett’s Department Store, and Southern Brides, all in Harrisonburg. In later years, even though she survived all of her old friends, she made new friends easily and was a great conversationalist.
She is survived by her son, Myron E. Hosaflook, III and wife, June, of Harrisonburg; a great-grandson, Wade Hamilton Hosaflook, and a special niece, Sandra Stroop Schaeffer, and her extended family, of New Market.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Ross Hamilton Hosaflook, and her four sisters, Mary Jenkins, Edna Biller, Della Funkhouser, and Edith Ryman.
The family is grateful for the loving care extended to Bunk by Sunnyside health care and Gentiva Hospice during the last four weeks of her life.
A graveside service will be held 2 pm, Monday, April 21, 2025, at Linville Cemetery with Rev. Dr. John Sloop, officiating.
