Stacy Hobbs

Stacy Hobbs, 38, of Fairfield, was called to Home Sunday, November 1, 2015, at home surrounded by family and friends after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born January 1, 1977, in Gettysburg, she was daughter of Rich and Joanne Hobbs of Fairfield.

Stacy was a graduate of Gettysburg High School, Class of 1995. She also graduated from Penn State University as a registered nurse. Her dynamic personality made her an ideal representative and member of the Adams County Breast Cancer Coalition and a member and volunteer for Pink Journey of Light, Linda Kranias LK5K, the Young Cancer Survivor Coalition of York and Gettysburg, Pink Out, and Believe Big. She was also an auxiliary member of American Legion Post #262 and an avid Ravens fan.

In addition to her parents, surviving are Stacy’s brothers, Matthew Hobbs and wife, Ashley, and Gregory Hobbs and wife, Jessica, all of Fairfield; her very special nephews, Chayce and Tucker Hobbs; and her maternal grandparents, Robert and Doris Mallette of Gettysburg. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Charles Hobbs, Jr. and Alma Hobbs.

Stacy has touched many lives by sharing in her success and failures in her battle with cancer. She never lived life as a cancer patient. Her mission was to raise awareness, educate, inform and to advocate for the cause.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 6, 2015, 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 47 DePaul Street, Emmitsburg, MD. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the beginning of Mass at the Church. Burial at New St. Joseph’s Cemetery will follow the service.
