Roy J. Key

Roy was born in Elkin, NC, on April 28, to Mr. & Mrs. Couger Key. Roy enlisted in the Army during the Korean Conflict and served for two years. He was preceded in death by his first wife Goldie Key (Hostler) to whom he was married for 38 years; and his great grandson, Milo Schaeffer.

Roy spent his time hunting, fishing, golf, and bowling (in which he achieved four “300” games). He enjoyed trips to Myrtle Beach with his golfing friends. He also spent his time watching NASCAR, Phillies baseball, Eagles and Panthers NFL football and Penn State college football!

Roy retired from Stanley Springs, which was then bought by Dayton Parts, with 38 years of service. Roy was a member of Devonshire Memorial Church.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara; daughter, Crystal and husband Steve Jones; daughter, Denise Key; son, James and wife Lori Key; stepchildren, Robert and Kathy Kepler, and Kimberly and Barry Archibald; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Devonshire Memorial Church, 5630 Devonshire Road, Harrisburg, PA on August 15, 2019, at 12:00PM. Visitation will be from 11:00AM-12:00PM at the church.
