R. Edward Rozell, age 89, went to join his creator on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at his home in McAlisterville, PA. He was born January 23, 1935 in Holyoke, MA the son of Edward Rozell and Florence (Whitford) Rozell. He is survived by 5 children, Debra Lowry and husband Deric Cheyne of Hyannis, MA, Steven Rozell and predeceased Cindy (Wysock) Rozell, Mark Rozell and fiance Brigitte Seldomridge, Terese Allen and husband Tom Allen and Linda Queen and fiance Philip Braeunig all of Lancaster, PA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He predeceased his brother Donald, and wife, Helen, of Holyoke MA.
Since 2012, Rosemarie Skyler has been his constant companion, of Boyertown, PA.
He served in the US Army during Korean conflict, was a Scout Master, and ordained officiate for his Granddaughter’s wedding. Highlights of his work career include Patient Account Manager at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Lancaster, PA, Credit Manager at Sico Oil, Lancaster, Pa from where he retired to his log cabin in Juniata County after living in Lancaster, PA. He has volunteered for the Juniata County Democrat Committee, the Juniata County Veterans Council, treasurer of Fayette Township Carnival Comittee, and currently he was Chairman of the Central Region of the PA Office of Aging up until his passing. He loved to travel, visiting 46 of the 50 United States, plus Europe, Canada, and Egypt and in Sept. of this year he took an Alaskan Cruise. He loved the outdoors and nature. He read daily, followed sports and racing, loved movies, attended folk festivals and making music with friends, playing pool and horse shoes, attending local high school plays and concerts, and above all, enjoyed celebrating life with family and friends. He lived his life to the fullest and always said, “Life is Good”
Celebration of Ed’s Life will be held in the Spring of 2025 at his cabin.
