Precious Johnson of Enola, PA, passed away on April 13, 2024, at home with her family. She was born in Rochelle, Georgia to Adrine and Walter Lester. A true Georgia Peach, she loved growing up on a farm in Pineview, GA, with her mother, grandparents and her four siblings.
Precious was known for her southern charm and always spoke with a touch of a southern accent. She was kind, gentle and had a way of making you feel special. She always set a great example for her family in the way she spoke, carried herself, treated others and nurtured a deep connection with family.
At times, Precious worked as a waitress and/or banquet waitress at the Sheraton, Penn Harris Motor Inn and other restaurants. In her downtime, she loved walking, gardening, and dancing. She displayed her artistic abilities through painting and other crafts such as sewing, crocheting, quilting and needlepoint.
Through her studies of the Bible, Precious fed her spiritual need. This enhanced her love for her God, Jehovah, her family and other people. She became a dedicated member of Jehovah’s Witnesses on May 22, 1972, and always tried to demonstrate her loyalty to her Heavenly Father, until the day of her passing, in spite of the many challenges she faced.
Precious is survived by her son, William Johnson (Carmen), two daughters, Gail Bailey and Regina Robinson; eleven grandchildren, Barry Bailey, Allen Bailey (Stephanie), Michael Bailey, Robin
Reall, Jonathan Bailey, Courtney Bailey, Kenneth Bailey (Megan), Chantelle Santana, Tiana Robinson, Jared Johnson, and Marlo Johnson. In addition, she leaves behind a host of great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family of the heart.
Precious is preceded in death by her spouses (Huldred Johnson Jr and James Mitchell), her parents, Adrine and Walter Lester; her brothers Frederick Lester, William Lester, James Lester, her sister, Trudy Miller, her oldest son, James Mitchell, and her great grandson, Antonio Santana.
Memorial services will be held for Precious Johnson on Saturday, April 27 at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 2 Willow Mill Park Rd, Mechanicsburg PA.
