Phon Sary, 70, passed away at Hershey Medical Center on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was surrounded by his beautiful family at his last moments. Phon Sary is survived by his wife, Monica Sary, his son Weeboll Sary, brother Phuen Sary, and seven (7) of his grandchildren, Dakota, Logan, Alexis, Dalton, Avannah, Brenson, and Addaleigh, his niece Sokunthea (Sary) Reynolds, and nephew, Phuerrac Sary.
Phon Sary was born in Kompong Speu, Cambodia to his Mother, Yam Nem and Father, Saroun Sary. He was the 7th child, of his 9 brothers and sisters. Phon escaped the dangerous war of Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge Era and came to America as a refugee in 1978 with his brother, Phuen Sary. Phon Sary met his wife, Monica Sary in 1979 in Lebanon, PA, whom he later married and had his son Weeboll Sary.
Phon Sary dedicated 40 years as a production worker in Special cleaning at Hershey Chocolate Foods in which he retired in 2009. Phon Sary enjoyed spending time with his wife and grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching horse races and playing his lottery numbers every day. Phon was also a devoted member of the Cambodian Buddhist Society Inc, of Silver Spring, MD. His family remembers his as a devoted and loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, and Friend.
