Born March 17, 1942, in Brooklyn, NY; she was the daughter of the late Gurtner and Helen (Tobin) Fowler; and preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel E. Potteiger Jr.; granddaughter, Michelle Shoemaker-Pender; and niece, Allison McKay.
Surviving is her husband of 28 years, Alan J. Davis; daughters, Terry Lynn Shoemaker (Mike), Cynthia Ann Mundis (Dave) sons, James S. Potteiger (Sue), Samuel E. Potteiger III (Betsy) and Michael C. Potteiger (Andrea); stepdaughter, Jennifer Gamble (Chris); stepsons, Alan Davis (Jill) and Scott Davis (Heather); 19 grandchildren, Casey L. Schultz, Michael R. Miller, Justin M. Shoemaker, Stefan Potteiger, Courtney Heinbach, Britni Heinbach, Jennifer L. Tienter, Matthew P. Mundis, Nixon Potteiger, Samuel E. Potteiger IV, Carina E. Potteiger, Derek M. Potteiger, Elizabeth Snover, Payton Davis, Reese Davis, Kaidynce Davis, Cordelia Davis, Evangeline Davis and Michael Chernuka; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Christine James and her husband, Geoffrey; nephew, Thomas O’Connor and niece, Emmalee McKinney.
Patricia was a retired Risk Management Assistant from the PA Rural Electric Association.
Pat was a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church, National Safety Council-Public Utilities Section, National Utility Training & Safety Education Association, Indian Motorcycle Riders Group, Chapter 1093 Susquehanna, a life member of the Harrisburg VFW Post 148, a graduate of Central Dauphin High School, class of 1960 and Lifetime member of the CDHS Alumni Association. She attended Harrisburg Area Community College earning a Certificate in Management.
Pat truly lived life to the fullest through her family and large extended family. She enjoyed spending time attending all her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities. Her favorite past times were gardening, planting flowers, watching races and the love of water. She enjoyed boating and being on the beach. She made many motorcycle adventures with her husband Alan over the years and formed lifelong friendships from their travels. Being born on St. Patrick’s Day Pat loved attending St Patrick’s Day parades and the challenge for her husband was where to go every year for her birthday. Her beloved cat Sophia will miss her dearly.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in the Ascension Lutheran Church, 4768 Union Deposit Rd., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday, July 8, 2024, in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg, and 10:00 AM, Tuesday, until the time of the service at the church.
