Born December 10, 1939 in Harrisburg; he was the son of the late Walter Cox and Mildred Cox Kindness; and preceded in death his two brothers, Richard Cox and Robert Cox; three sisters, Peggy Ryan, Nancy Gigliotti and Donna Drake.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Dorothy J. (Stock) Cox; two daughters, Darlene A. Frankhouser-Spicer and husband Eric and Sandra A. Schlegel and husband Edwin; son, Larry E. Cox Jr. and wife Tracy; 7 grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Cole, Jack, Sami, Myranda and Morgan; 7 great-grandchildren, Nico, Benny, Michael, Rowyn, Miles, Theo and River; and sister, Charlene Keeney (Gordy).
Larry served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired employee from Roadway Express, after retiring he worked for the former Synertech and was a member of the Teamsters and Chauffeurs Union, Local 776.
Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a pillar of strength, hardworking and had a great sense of humor with the desire to make everyone laugh. He enjoyed playing billiards with family and challenging the one arm bandit.
He was a devoted family man and loved playing games and cards. Larry was an avid Penn State and Baltimore Ravens fan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 PM Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the Installation Chapel at Fort Indiantown Gap, the corner of Wiley St. and Service Rd. Burial will be at 2:30 PM Wednesday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
