Kenneth E. George, 79, of Camp Hill, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. He was born January 15, 1939 in New Bloomfield, PA. He attended Perry Joint High School. Following high school he served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1956-1959.
Ken was a truck driver for over 40 years and he enjoyed restoring antique cars. He belonged to several car clubs, including Antique Automobile Club of America, Hershey Region AACA, Gettysburg Region AACA, Blue Moon Cruisers, and Susquehanna Valley Antique Truck Society. He was an active member of Masonic organizations including the Eureka-West Shore Masonic Lodge, Zembo Shriners, Tall Cedars and Valley of Harrisburg Consistory of the Scottish Rite. Ken was a member of Shiremanstown United Methodist Church.
Ken enjoyed spending time with his friends and large family. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce, his children, Kathleen Karlovich, Kenneth D. George, Rhonda Wells (J.R.), Rodney George (Michelle), Lanny Kemble (Stephanie), Cindi Gorczyca (Rich), Douglas George (Sheila), his 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 7 sisters, and 2 brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, a sister, and his granddaughter, Jamie R. Randle.
Services will be held at Shiremanstown United Methodist Church on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. A Masonic service will begin at 10:45 AM followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Shiremanstown United Methodist Church (125 E. Main St., Shiremanstown, PA 17011) or to The King’s Kettle Food Bank (PO Box 75, Shippensburg, PA 17257).
