Judith A. Gregorits, 81, of Harrisburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Gardens of Blue Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Health Care Center, Harrisburg. Born April 17, 1939 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Steve Gregorits Jr., and the late Greta V. Gregorits, both of Harrisburg. Judith worked for the Leader Nursing Home and later Manor Care as a Nursing Assistant for 26 years before retiring in 2006. She was a dedicated employee and care giver to the many residents she had encountered, working a full shift, yet later still managed to care for her parents at home, in their declining years. She was proud of her work, always dressed in her perfectly pressed nursing uniform, matching shoes, and when possible, a carnation carefully placed on her lapel. Her work ethic was second to none, missing a day of work was not an option as she felt her purpose was to help those who needed it the most, and their needs do not take time off. Judith was also a very talented artist. She would draw beautiful designs out of chalk on the sidewalk for her son when he was growing up. She painted elaborate panels in holiday themes at Christmas for display, and she enjoyed decorating for Halloween. She was a big fan of music, particularly rock and roll! Her son was given his middle name, Dion, as a tribute to her favorite group, Dion and the Belmonts. Her home would resonate with the sounds of Elvis Presley, Freddie Cannon and Buddy Holly from her '45 collection, as well as Andy Williams and Perry Como LP's she carefully handled as she played them on her stereo console. One of her happiest moments in her day was letting those sounds fill the air. Holiday parades were especially fun for her when the marching band would pause for the percussion section. She would dance to the rhythm and beats, encouraging everybody to join. Although her interests were in the arts, nothing was more important to her than her family. The hole in her heart never healed after losing her mom, dad and her brother Steve. She is now back home with them. Judith is survived by her son, Vincent Dion Gregorits, his wife, Deirdre Bingham Gregorits and stepson, Ethan Kosling all of Mechanicsburg. She also leaves behind two very kind neighbors, Butch and Theresa who looked out for her and helped when she had a need. Graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Autism Speaks, www.autismspeaks.org.
