John A. Wittle, 78, of Annville, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, in Hershey Medical Center after a long, 3-yr battle with mesothelioma cancer. He passed peacefully with his wife, daughter and brother-in-law by his side. Born February 8, 1944, in Harrisburg; he was the son of the late Albert and Mildred (Stewart) Wittle, Sr.; and preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Jr, William and David Wittle. Surviving is his wife, Mary (Acri) Wittle, who celebrated 56 yrs of marriage; daughter, Michelle Stump (Charles III); two grandchildren, Ashley Thompson and Tre Stump; 4 great-grandchildren, Jayden, Camryn, Jaxson and Karson; sister, Janet Clenny; and brother-in-law, Charles Acri; along with many nieces and nephews. John was a plumber, a maintenance man at the Harrisburg International Airport, and retired from Marriott Towne Suite as Chief Engineer. John was also U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. John was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Palmyra. John loved listening to music, especially the Eagles. He also loved going to Indy 500 every year, was an avid Notre Dame fan and loved the NY Jets. But his most favorite thing to do was spending time with his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Friday, May 20, 2022, at Holy Sprit Catholic Church, 300 W. Pine St., Palmyra. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Harrisburg. Viewings will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 19, 2022, at the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg, and 10:00 AM, Friday, until the time of the service at the church. Recitation of the rosary will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
