
John David Graham, 84, of Gardners, PA, passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2025. He was born in Monroeville, PA, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University, and served three years in the Pennsylvania National Guard.
After 37 years as a civil engineer working in flood control and water resources projects at several government agencies (the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service and the Susquehanna River Basin Commission), he retired.
He loved travel and meeting people from other cultures. He visited state and national parks across the United States and Canada and journeyed overseas to 15 countries, his favorite being Tanzania where he camped with his wife and fellow travelers on the Serengeti. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, especially raising tomatoes, tinkering on anything mechanical, and birdwatching.
John is survived by his wife, Eileen (Scofield) Graham; sons, Kirk Graham and Lisle Graham; their spouses, Sue Ziegler Graham and Dana Huggins; sisters, Clara Sadowsky and Graham Park; brothers, Harry Graham and Mark Graham; nieces and nephews; and his dog, Izzy.
