She was born 97 years ago in Harrisburg to the late Paul E. Lovranitz and Julia Faiman Lovranitz.
“Jo” was a founding member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, where she served tirelessly as a volunteer and sacristan throughout her life. Her faith and service to the Church brought her great joy.
In 2012, she was honored with The Laboure Legacy of Leadership award. She hoped to promote involvement from others in the faith community by her example and made many friends along the way.
She retired from the Legislative Reference Bureau, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in 1997, after 27 years of service as highly trained and skilled administrative support in the field of legislative drafting.
“Jo” was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Harry “Rip” Laucks, and her son-in-law David Donohoe.
She is survived by daughters Stephanie (Samuel) Hoyle, Vicki (David) Werner, and Carol L. Donohoe,
as well as grandchildren Julia (Michael) Werner Puchtler, Elizabeth (Richard) Hoyle Ramsey, Benjamin (Erin) Hoyle, Michael (Jennifer) Werner, Philip (Joelle) Donohoe, Matthew Donohoe, and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family is grateful to the staff at the Ecumenical Center for their loving care, and Lifesong Hospice for their end-of-life support, dedication, prayers, kindness and time.
